Betnovate Cream is used to prevent allergies, including swelling, itching, redness, heat, and pain caused by certain skin problems such as psoriasis (scales and itchy, dry patches), dermatitis (itchy, swelling of the skin) and eczema (itchy, cracked, swollen or rough skin). It contains Betamethasone, which works by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Some people may experience side effects such as skin redness, inflamed hair follicles, itching, blistering, or burning sensation at the site of application. Before using this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

My glans are not rolled over by my skin. I'm not circumcised. Is it a major issue? How can I treat it? Is circumcision necessary?

If the foreskin does not roll back over the glans, it may be a condition called Phimosis. It is not always a major issue if there is no pain, infection, or difficulty in urination or sex. You can try gentle daily retraction exercises and sometimes doctors prescribe a steroid cream to loosen the skin. Circumcision is not always necessary and is usually considered only if the problem is severe, recurrent, or not improving with simple treatment.

When my penis is erect, my foreskin doesn't roll back. When not erect, it rolls back correctly. Maintaining cleanliness and masturbating have never been issues for me.

If your foreskin retracts when not erect but not during erection, it may be a mild form of Phimosis. Since hygiene is not an issue, it?s usually not serious, but you can try gentle daily retraction exercises and keep the area clean. I have a short frenulum, which prevents me from fully retracting my foreskin. Could you please advise which betamethasone cream is suitable and how I should apply it?

Betamethasone valerate cream (usually 0.05% or 0.1%) is often prescribed by a doctor to treat a short frenulum. It helps reduce inflammation, soften the tissue, and improve skin elasticity, making it easier to stretch the frenulum and relieve tightness. Gently apply a small amount of the cream as a thin layer to the tight band of foreskin once or twice daily for several weeks, while gently stretching the skin, or follow your doctor?s instructions.

If I had grade 2 phimosis so what should I do?

Grade 2 phimosis is usually manageable and not considered severe. The most appropriate treatment depends on your symptoms and a physical examination. In many cases, doctors may recommend topical therapies to help soften the foreskin and improve retraction. It’s important not to attempt forceful retraction yourself, as this can worsen the condition. Consulting a doctor is essential to determine the safest and most effective approach for your situation.
