Candid B Cream 10 gm is a combination medicine used in the treatment of fungal skin infections such as tinea pedis or athlete's foot, tinea cruris or jock itch, and tinea corporis. It works by inhibiting the fungal cell membrane and thereby kills the infection-causing fungus. Common side effects include itching, redness, dryness, burning and stinging sensation at the site of application. It is an external preparation. Hence avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
I have itching in my underarm area. What could be the cause?
G.santoshini Reddy
M Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
Itching in the underarm area is quite common and is usually caused by sweat and friction, poor hygiene, allergic reactions to deodorants or soaps, or a fungal infection such as Tinea corporis, especially in warm and humid conditions. It can also occur due to bacterial infection, shaving irritation, or conditions like eczema. Keeping the area clean and dry, wearing loose cotton clothes, avoiding perfumed products, and not scratching can help, and you may use an antifungal or soothing cream if advised by a doctor. However, if the itching is severe, persistent, associated with redness, rash, or darkening of the skin, it is best to consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
I have had itching around my belt area for 8 years. I have been using Candid B cream, but it has not fully helped. What should I do?
Chandrakanta Jena
Pharm D
You should stop using steroid-based creams like Candid B, as they can thin the skin and worsen skin conditions over time. Please see a dermatologist for a proper examination and tests to determine whether the itching is caused by a persistent fungal infection or another skin condition. Try not to scratch the affected area and keep it clean and dry.
My wife has frequent fungal infections under her breasts. We used Candid B ointment, but it is not helping. What treatment may help her with this problem?
Dr. S Aneela
M. Pharm (Pharmacology)., PhD
Fungal infections under the breasts often occur due to moisture, sweating, and friction in the skin folds. Keeping the area clean and completely dry and wearing loose cotton clothing may help reduce the infection. Avoid using steroid-based creams for long periods without medical advice. Consult a doctor for proper evaluation and suitable antifungal treatment.
I have black spot and inching on my manhood, what should I do naturally to remove them?
Bayyarapu Mahesh Kumar
M Pharmacy
Black spots and itching in the genital area may arise from irritation, infections, or certain skin conditions, and while natural remedies can provide temporary relief, they do not address the underlying cause. A healthcare professional will typically evaluate symptoms by reviewing medical history, examining the skin, and, if needed, performing tests such as swabs, blood tests, or a biopsy. Based on the findings, appropriate treatment may include antifungal or antibacterial medication, topical creams for skin conditions, or guidance on hygiene and lifestyle practices. Professional consultation is essential to ensure accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and prevention of complications.
I have severe itching from my hips down to my toes during the summer. What could be the cause, and how can I get relief?
Dr. S Aneela
M. Pharm (Pharmacology)., PhD
Severe itching in summer from hips to toes is often due to heat, sweating, dry skin, or fungal infection. Keep the skin clean and dry, wear loose cotton clothes, and avoid excessive sweating. Consult a doctor if it persists, as antifungal or anti-allergy treatment may be needed.

Overcome Medication-Induced Nausea: A 9-Step Plan
Inform your doctor about the nausea and discuss possible alternatives to the medication or adjustments to the dosage.
Divide your daily food intake into smaller, more frequent meals to reduce nausea.
Opt for bland, easily digestible foods like crackers, toast, plain rice, bananas, and applesauce.
Avoid certain foods that can trigger nausea, such as fatty, greasy, spicy, and smelly foods.
Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, clear broth, or electrolyte-rich beverages like coconut water or sports drinks.
Use ginger (tea, ale, or candies) to help relieve nausea.
Get adequate rest and also avoid strenuous activities that can worsen nausea.
Talk to your doctor about taking anti-nausea medication if your nausea is severe.
Record when your nausea occurs, what triggers it, and what provides relief to help you identify patterns and manage your symptoms more effectively.
Consult your doctor if you experience skin redness, itching, or irritation after taking medication.
Apply cool compresses or calamine lotion to the affected skin area to reduce irritation.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to help alleviate symptoms and keep your skin soothing.
Monitor your skin condition closely and promptly report any changes, worsening symptoms, or concerns to your healthcare provider.
Cool the burn by using cool (not cold) running water to reduce tissue damage and pain.
Slowly remove any tight clothing or jewellery from the burned area.
After cooling, apply a topical ointment like aloevera gel or a mild antibiotic cream to help with healing.
Use a clean bandage to protect the burn area from further irritation.
Take over-the-counter pain medication if needed.
Do not apply butter or other greasy substances, as they can trap bacteria and hinder healing.
If the burn covers a large area of skin or if the burn appears to be deeper than the top layer of skin, with blisters or significant redness, consult the doctor and get treated.
