Drug-Drug Interactions

The following medicines may interact with LACNID TABLET and affect its safety or effectiveness:

• Blood thinners (like warfarin): Combining these can significantly increase your risk of bleeding.
• Antacids and mineral supplements: Products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc can block the absorption of LACNID TABLET, reducing its effectiveness.
• Medicines affecting heart rhythm: Taking this medicine alongside other drugs known to affect the heart's electrical activity can increase the risk of irregular heartbeats.
• Pain relievers (NSAIDs): Using certain pain relievers alongside LACNID TABLET can increase the risk of central nervous system side effects, including seizures.

Drug-Food Interactions

Certain foods and beverages may interfere with how LACNID TABLET works in your body:

• Dairy Products (Milk, Yoghurt, Cheese): The main concern is with high-calcium products such as antacids or calcium supplements, which can significantly reduce absorption of ofloxacin. Normal dietary amounts of dairy are generally not clinically significant. However, to be cautious, it is advisable to maintain a 2-hour gap between LACNID TABLET and high-calcium supplements or antacid products.  
• Caffeine: This medicine can slow down how your body processes caffeine, leading to increased jitteriness, anxiety, or a rapid heart rate.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Certain medical conditions may affect how LACNID TABLET works or increase the risk of side effects:

• Nerve disorders: May worsen existing symptoms of peripheral neuropathy (numbness or tingling).
• Tendon disorders: Increases the risk of tendonitis or tendon rupture, especially in older adults.
• Kidney or liver damage: May require your doctor to adjust your dose to prevent the medicine from building up to unsafe levels in your body.
• Epilepsy: May lower the seizure threshold, making seizures more likely.
