  • Antacids, proton pump inhibitors, and H2 blockers: These medications reduce stomach acid, which can cause the tablet's protective coating to dissolve too early, resulting in severe stomach irritation.
  • Diuretics (water pills) and corticosteroids: Taking these alongside laxatives may increase the risk of electrolyte imbalances, particularly low potassium levels in your blood.

Drug-Food Interactions

Certain foods and beverages may affect how Coolax Tablet 10's works or increase the risk of side effects. Examples include: 

  • Dairy products (milk, yoghurt, cheese): Dairy products can temporarily reduce stomach acid levels (raise stomach pH), which may cause the tablet's protective coating to dissolve too early. This can increase the risk of stomach irritation, nausea, or abdominal discomfort. Avoid dairy for one hour before and after taking this medicine.
  • Alcohol Consumption: Alcohol may contribute to dehydration and can worsen dizziness or fluid loss while using Coolax Tablet 10's. Drink adequate fluids and avoid excessive alcohol intake during treatment.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of the following conditions before taking Coolax Tablet 10's, as it may worsen your condition or require additional monitoring:

Co-administration of Coolax Tablet and Azithromycin together can increase the chance of a serious abnormal heart rhythm.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is an interaction, Coolax Tablet can be taken with Azithromycin if prescribed by the doctor. Consult the doctor if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, breathing difficulty, or heart palpitations, weakness, tiredness, drowsiness, confusion, tingling, numbness, muscle pain, cramps, nausea, or vomiting. Do not discontinue the medications without consulting a doctor.

Co-administration of Coolax Tablet with Sodium sulfate may raise the risk of ischemic colitis (an inflammatory condition caused by reduced blood flow to the colon due to narrowed or blocked blood vessels) or ulcers.
