Directions for Use
- Begin by washing your hands with soap and water and pat dry them with a towel. If you have an alcohol swab, you can also use it to clean your finger before testing, but ensure the fingertip is entirely dry before proceeding.
- Take out a OneTouch Select Test Strip from the box and insert it into the slot on the OneTouch Select Simple blood sugar testing machine (remember, it's the white-coloured one) just before you prick your finger.
- Use a clean lancet or insert a clean needle, this will help you prick the end of your finger.
- Prick the side of your fingertip gently and wait for blood to ooze out. Wipe off the first drop cautiously and then place a drop or two onto the designated spot on the test strip attached to the glucometer.
- Once you've got your blood on the strip, hold a clean cotton pad or gauze on the prick site to stop any further bleeding. Apply pressure until the bleeding stops.
- Your blood glucose level will appear on the meter’s display within seconds. Note down your readings; these will help monitor changes in your glucose levels over time.
- Remember to repeat this process every time you test your blood glucose level.
