Ciplox-D Eye/Ear Drops contains a combination of three medicines used to treat bacterial ear and eye infections such as post-operative inflammatory conditions of the eyes, acute otitis media, and acute otitis externa. This medicine stops the growth of bacteria by inhibiting the DNA-gyrase enzyme and thereby helps reduce bacterial eye infections. This medicine is not effective for treating viral infections. Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects, such as eye discomfort, irritation, eye/ear pain, and stinging sensation.

No, you should not use Ciplox-D Eye/Ear Drops (Ciprofloxacin and Dexamethasone) for a red and painful left eye unless prescribed by a doctor. The steroid component can worsen certain eye infections and may cause permanent vision damage. Please consult an eye doctor promptly for proper examination and safe treatment.

My 10-month-old baby boy has redness in his left eye. The doctor prescribed Ciplox-D eye drops, and the redness improved after 2 days, but it has returned. He is also rubbing his eye. What could be the problem?

The recurring eye redness may indicate irritation, infection, or an allergic reaction. Rubbing the eye can worsen the symptoms or introduce more germs, so try to prevent it. Your doctor may recommend lubricating eye drops to reduce irritation and dryness in the eyes, helping to soothe the cornea and prevent additional discomfort.
