Equirex Tablet 15's is used in the treatment of peptic ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and enterocolitis (swelling in the intestine). It contains Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium, which decrease stomach acid production. Also, it decreases the abnormal activity in the brain and provides a calming effect and relaxing muscles. Thus, it helps to provide relief from stomach spasms and cramps. It may cause side effects such as dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, nausea, bloating, urination problems, drowsiness, dizziness, rash, swelling, irregular menstrual periods, and increased or decreased libido (sexual desire). Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

Keeping a food diary to identify triggers (like spicy food, dairy, caffeine, or gas-forming foods), eating small, regular meals, increasing fibre gradually (if constipation is present), staying well hydrated, and managing stress through relaxation or exercise can make a big difference. Your doctor may also adjust medicines based on your main symptoms (pain, diarrhoea, or constipation) or consider tests to rule out other conditions if symptoms persist. Avoid self-medicating, and follow up regularly so your treatment can be tailored to give better relief.

Drug-drug interactions: Equirex Tablet 15's may interact with antacids, an anticoagulant (warfarin), antipsychotic medications (chlorpromazine, fluphenazine, and thioridazine), and antidepressants (isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue, phenelzine, selegiline, and tranylcypromine).

Drug-food interactions: Avoid consumption of alcohol as it may increase drowsiness.
