I have multiple painless boils under my skin. What could be the reason for this, and how can they be treated?

Multiple painless boils or lumps under the skin can occur due to several reasons, such as blocked oil glands, cysts, mild infections, excessive sweating, or inflammation of the hair follicles. In some cases, they may be related to folliculitis, small sebaceous cysts, or fatty lumps called lipomas, which are usually harmless and painless. Poor hygiene, friction from tight clothing, oily skin, diabetes, and weak immunity can also increase the chances of developing repeated skin swellings. To help manage the condition, keep the affected area clean and dry, avoid squeezing or scratching the boils, and wear loose cotton clothing to reduce sweating and irritation. Warm compresses may help improve circulation and allow small boils to heal naturally. If there is redness, itching, discharge, or signs of infection, a doctor may prescribe an antibiotic or antifungal medicine, depending on the cause. Maintaining healthy blood sugar levels, drinking enough water, and following good skin hygiene may also help prevent recurrence. However, if the lumps increase in size, become painful, develop pus, spread to other areas, recur frequently, or are associated with fever or weight loss, you should consult a dermatologist for proper examination because some swellings may need tests, drainage, or removal to identify the exact cause and provide appropriate treatment.
