Mild skin-lightening or skin-renewing creams recommended by a dermatologist, such as those containing vitamin C, niacinamide, glycolic acid, retinoids, or other pigmentation-reducing ingredients, may help improve the appearance gradually. Keeping the skin hydrated, eating a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables, and maintaining good skin care can also support healing.
