Acnesol-CL Gel belongs to a group of medicines known as macrolide antibiotics, used to treat acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition which develops when hair follicles become clogged with dead skin cells and oil.

Acnesol-CL Gel contains Clarithromycin, which inhibits the synthesis of essential nutrients required for bacterial survival. As a result, Acnesol-CL Gel kills the acne-causing bacteria.

Some people may experience side effects like burning sensation, peeling, itching, redness and dry skin. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult a doctor.

Do not use Acnesol-CL Gel if you are allergic to clarithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin, azithromycin, or any of the other components of this medicine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
