About DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET

DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET is used to treat bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, intestinal infections, respiratory infections, sexually transmitted infections, and skin infections. Besides this, DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET also treats acne-like lesions caused by rosacea.

DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET contains Minocycline, which inhibits the protein synthesis required for the growth of the bacterial cell. As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow.

You may experience headache, photosensitivity, dizziness, vomiting, itching, nausea, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Before using DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET, tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergy to DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET, have kidney problems, liver problems, or asthma. Use of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET in pregnant and nursing mothers is not recommended.

What if I have taken an overdose of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET as it may cause overdose. The symptoms of overdose include nausea, dizziness or vomiting. If you suspect you have taken overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

  • Eating grapefruit during antibiotic treatment can prevent the body from utilising DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET properly. So, avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking the antibiotic.
  • Avoid taking too much calcium, iron-enriched foods, and drinks, as it might affect the working of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET.

What if you forget to take DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight. • Keep out of sight and reach of children. • Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

  • Iron and antacids (like magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide) may bind to DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET in the gastrointestinal tract, lowering its efficiency. So, a gap of at least 2 hours should be maintained between the intake of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET and iron supplements and antacids.
  • Prolonged use of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET during tooth development (pregnancy, infancy, and childhood to the age of 8 years) may cause permanent discolouration of the teeth (yellow-grey-brown).
  • Do not consume alcohol as it may cause excessive drowsiness when taken along with DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET.
  • Before using DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET, tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergy to DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET, have kidney problems, liver problems, or asthma.
  • Use efficient birth control to prevent pregnancy while you are using DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET.
  • The use of DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET causes antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if you have diarrhoea while taking DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET.
  • DIAVAINE 50MG TABLET may cause sensitive skin to sunlight and ultraviolet rays, causing exaggerated sunburn reactions. Hence, it is advisable to apply sunscreen before going outside.
