Dompit Drops is an antiemetic medicine. It is used to treat vomiting (being sick) in infants and children. Besides this, it also helps treat indigestion. In children, vomiting is a symptom of milk intolerance or food allergy.

Dompit Drops contains domperidone, which is a dopamine antagonist. It works by blocking receptors for dopamine and serotonin, which stimulate the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) in the brain. It increases the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract and helps decrease gastric emptying time.

Dompit Drops causes dry mouth as a side effect in your child. If this side effect worsens, please consult your paediatrician. Dompit Drops should be given as advised by your doctor. Symptoms of nausea and vomiting may usually resolve within 3-4 days after taking Dompit Drops. However, if it does not resolve even after this, stop giving this medicine to your child and contact the paediatrician.
