About Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet

Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension is a lifelong or chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery walls becomes too high. This can lead to complications such as heart attack, irregular heartbeat, kidney damage, and eye problems.

Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet contains two active ingredients: chlorthalidone (a diuretic or water pill) and Efonidipine (a calcium channel blocker). Chlorthalidone removes excess water and salts from the body by increasing urination, thereby reducing blood pressure. Efonidipine prevents calcium from entering the blood vessel walls, relaxing the vessels and lowering blood pressure.

Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet should be taken as advised by your doctor. Your doctor will determine the dose and duration of the medication based on your health condition. Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet may cause common side effects such as headache, dizziness, sweating, oedema (swelling caused by excess fluid), loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, palpitations (racing or pounding heart), hot flushes (sudden feelings of warmth), and hypotension (decreased blood pressure). What if I have taken an overdose of Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet

Do not exceed the recommended dose of Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet , as doing so may lead to an overdose. Symptoms of an overdose include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, hypotension (low blood pressure), hypovolaemia (low blood volume), muscle spasms, irregular heart rhythms, and electrolyte imbalances. If you suspect you have taken an overdose of this medicine or notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help immediately from a doctor or go to the nearest hospital.

Additionally, inform your doctor before taking Efnocar-CT 40/12.5 Tablet if you are on a low salt diet, have recently taken lithium or an anesthetic, or have certain medical conditions, such as diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol levels), glaucoma (increased eye pressure), hypertensive crisis (severe increase in blood pressure), recent heart attack, or liver or kidney problems.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise
