Esodril-L Capsule 10's is used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Gastroesophageal reflux disease occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus); this causes acidity, pain and heartburn.

Esodril-L Capsule 10's contains Esomeprazole and Levosulpiride. Esomeprazole works by preventing the production of stomach acid. Levosulpiride works by increasing the stomach and intestinal movement and preventing the backflow of food and acid into the mouth.

In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as headache, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, nausea and vomiting. You are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Esodril-L Capsule 10's should not be given to children as safety has not been established.

• Acidity: Esodril-L Capsule 10's helps to reduce excessive stomach acid production and related discomfort.
• Heartburn: Esodril-L Capsule 10's treats the burning sensation in the chest due to acid reflux.
• Peptic ulcers: Esodril-L Capsule 10's helps in the healing of ulcers in the stomach and upper intestine by lowering acid production.
• Indigestion: Esodril-L Capsule 10's improves digestion by reducing acid and promoting normal stomach movement.

• Esodril-L Capsule 10's should be taken 1 hour before a meal, preferably in the morning.
• It is usually taken once daily or as prescribed by your doctor.

• Inform your doctor before taking Esodril-L Capsule 10's if you have severe liver or kidney problems; if you are due to have a Chromogranin A test; if you experience unexplained weight loss, stomach pain, indigestion, vomiting food or blood, or if you pass black stools.
• On long-term treatment, Esodril-L Capsule 10's may increase the risk of bone fractures.
• Do not take Esodril-L Capsule 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Esodril-L Capsule 10's may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert.
• Esodril-L Capsule 10's should not be given to children as safety has not been established.
• Avoid consuming alcohol along with Esodril-L Capsule 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid.
