Gravitor Tablet is used to treat myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness). Besides this, it also treats paralytic ileus (a rare form of constipation), postoperative urinary retention, and prophylaxis to military exposure to any nerve poisoning gas. It contains Pyridostigmine, which works by stopping the excessive cholinesterase activity (an enzyme required for the breakdown of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine) involved in communication between nerve impulses and muscle movements. Thereby, helps in proper muscle functioning and prevents muscle weakness. In some cases, you may experience common side effects, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sweating, cough with mucus, rash, muscle cramps, and blurred vision. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Gravitor Tablet

Gravitor Tablet is a prescription medicine primarily used to treat myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune condition that causes muscle weakness and fatigue. Living with myasthenia gravis can be challenging, but with the right treatment plan many people are able to manage their symptoms and carry out their daily activities. Gravitor Tablet works by improving communication between your nerves and muscles, helping restore muscle strength needed for activities such as chewing, swallowing, and breathing.

For the best results, you must take Gravitor Tablet consistently at the exact times prescribed by your doctor, especially if you need it to help with chewing or swallowing. It is generally recommended to take this medicine with food or a small snack to reduce stomach upset. Planning your meals around your dosing schedule can make eating much easier and safer.

While taking Gravitor Tablet , you may experience mild side effects such as increased salivation, sweating, mild stomach cramps, or nausea. However, if you notice serious symptoms like extreme muscle weakness, difficulty breathing, or a very slow heart rate, contact your doctor immediately.

Do not take this if you have a physical blockage in your intestines or urinary tract. Before starting Gravitor Tablet , let your doctor know if you have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or any heart rhythm problems, as this medicine can worsen these conditions.

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can worsen stomach side effects and increase drowsiness. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or are an elderly individual, as your dose may need careful monitoring.

Uses of Gravitor Tablet

Gravitor Tablet is used to manage the following conditions:

  • Myasthenia gravis: Gravitor Tablet helps improve muscle strength and reduce muscle fatigue in people with this chronic autoimmune disorder.
  • Nerve gas exposure protection: In specific military or government-authorised situations, Gravitor Tablet may be used as a preventive measure before potential exposure to certain nerve agents. This is a specialised use and is not a routine civilian indication or self-medication option.

Key Benefits

Gravitor Tablet provides real-world relief by helping you regain control over your muscles. The primary benefits include:

  • Improved Muscle Control: It significantly increases muscle strength, allowing you to perform daily tasks like walking, lifting, and speaking more easily.
  • Easier Eating and Swallowing: By strengthening the muscles in the throat and mouth, Gravitor Tablet helps you chew and swallow food safely, reducing the risk of choking.
  • Restored Energy for Daily Activities: It helps prevent the rapid muscle fatigue that typically worsens throughout the day, enabling you to maintain physical activity longer.

Directions for Use

Follow these instructions to take Gravitor Tablet safely and effectively:

  • Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet unless your doctor specifically instructs you to do so. Extended-release tablets must always be swallowed whole, as they are designed to release the medicine slowly over several hours and are often prescribed to provide longer-lasting symptom control, including overnight.
  • Take this medicine at the exact times your doctor prescribes. For example, if you have trouble swallowing during meals, taking your dose 30 to 45 minutes before eating can make a significant difference.
  • Always follow your doctor's exact instructions regarding how and when to take this medicine, and never adjust your timing or dose on your own.
