Leg pain, constipation, and repeated confusion or murmuring in a person with diabetes can happen because of nerve damage, dehydration, infection, low or high blood sugar, kidney imbalance, medicine side effects, vitamin deficiency, or circulation problems. Confusion and unusual behaviour are especially important because they may sometimes indicate metabolic imbalance, electrolyte disturbance, infection, reduced brain blood flow, or uncontrolled diabetes-related complications. Further evaluation may help identify the exact cause. Blood sugar monitoring, kidney function tests, electrolyte levels, vitamin B12 levels, urine tests, blood pressure checks, and neurological assessment are often useful in patients with diabetic confusion and weakness. If constipation is severe, hydration, fibre intake, stool softeners, and reviewing current medicines may also help improve symptoms. Leg pain may need evaluation for diabetic neuropathy, circulation issues, or muscle weakness. Irregular speech, drowsiness, severe weakness, fever, low urine output, chest discomfort, or sudden worsening confusion can suggest the body is being affected more significantly and may need urgent medical care and monitoring.
