LOCULA 10% DROPS

LOCULA 10% DROPS belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections. Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

LOCULA 10% DROPS contains Sulfacetamide­ which works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow and multiply. Thereby, LOCULA 10% DROPS stops the growth of bacteria causing an eye infection.

Use LOCULA 10% DROPS as prescribed by your doctor. LOCULA 10% DROPS is for ophthalmic  (eye) use only. You are advised to use LOCULA 10% DROPS for as long as your doctor has prescribed based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience mild burning, irritation, itching, stinging or redness of the eyes. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Sulfacetamide, any other medicines, foods, dyes or preservatives, please inform your doctor. LOCULA 10% DROPS should be used for children only if advised by your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your doctor before using LOCULA 10% DROPS. Drive only if your vision is clear as eye ointment may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using it. If you are about to undergo surgery using general anaesthesia, please inform your doctor before using LOCULA 10% DROPS.

If you are about to undergo surgery using general anaesthesia, please inform your doctor before using LOCULA 10% DROPS. If your condition does not improve after using LOCULA 10% DROPS for 2 to 3 days, consult your doctor. You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 5 minutes between using LOCULA 10% DROPS and other eye medicines. Do not touch the tip of the container to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate LOCULA 10% DROPS and cause eye infections. Do not use eye drops if the seal around the cap is broken, if the solution is discoloured (dark brown), if the bottle or packaging shows tampering signs, or if the bottle has passed the expiry date. Discard it after 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
