MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML belongs to the class of 'antibiotics', primarily used to treat bacterial eye infections, such as bacterial conjunctivitis. A bacterial eye infection occurs when bacteria invade any part of the eyeball or its surrounding tissues, including the cornea (clear front surface of the eye) and the conjunctiva (thin membrane lining the outer eye and inner eyelids).
MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML contains Moxifloxacin, which acts as a bactericidal agent that kills bacteria causing a wide range of infections. It works by stopping a bacteria's ability to copy their genetic material (DNA) which stops them from reproducing and ultimately kills bacteria.
Use MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience common side effects like dry eyes, watery eyes, eye pain or discomfort, blurred vision, redness, itching and irritation of the eyes. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Bacterial eye infections
MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML treats and prevents bacterial eye infections. It contains Moxifloxacin, a quinolone antibiotic. It is bactericidal (kills bacteria) and works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Thus, MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML prevents bacteria from replication and kills them.
Before using MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML, let your doctor know if have a history of previous eye surgery and eye problems like dry eye syndrome and corneal problems. Avoid touching the dropper with bare hands or taking it closer to the eyelids while administering drops, since it contaminates the dropper tip and solution. Let your doctor know if you are using other eye medications before starting MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML. It is advised to check with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid driving, or operating machines since MOXIFUR DROPS 5ML may cause blurred vision for a while after using.
