About Picocord GR 100 Tablet
Picocord GR 100 Tablet is an antifungal medicine used to prevent and treat certain fungal infections. It is often prescribed to people with weakened immune systems who are at a higher risk of developing invasive fungal infections. Posaconazole works by stopping fungi from growing and spreading, helping the body control the infection.
Take Picocord GR 100 Tablet exactly as prescribed and at the same time each day. Food instructions may vary depending on the formulation, so follow the directions provided with your medicine. Swallow the medicine as directed and complete the full course, even if you start to feel better. Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor, as the infection may return or become more difficult to treat.
Some people may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, or headache. These side effects are usually mild. Contact your doctor if they become severe, persistent, or difficult to manage. Consult your doctor right away if you develop yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
Before starting Picocord GR 100 Tablet , tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems, heart failure, heart rhythm problems, or low levels of potassium, magnesium, or calcium in your blood. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to posaconazole or any of its ingredients. Some medicines must not be taken with posaconazole, including ergot medicines, sirolimus, certain cholesterol-lowering medicines, and some medicines that can cause dangerous changes in heart rhythm. Give your doctor a complete list of all medicines and supplements you take.
Your doctor may perform blood tests during treatment to monitor your liver function and, when needed, check the amount of posaconazole in your blood. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, breastfeeding, an older adult, or considering this medicine for a child, consult your doctor before use. Your doctor will consider factors such as age, weight, kidney and liver function, other medicines, and individual treatment needs before recommending the most appropriate dose and formulation.
