Tricaine MPS Gel is used to relieve symptoms associated with excess stomach acid and trapped gas. Its main uses include: 

• Stomach ulcers and gastritis: It helps by lowering stomach acid levels and coating the raw, irritated areas of your stomach lining, allowing them to heal.
• Acid reflux (GERD) and heartburn: It neutralises stomach acid quickly to prevent it from rising into your food pipe, easing the burning pain in your chest.
• Painful stomach swelling (bloating) and gas: It breaks up gas bubbles in your stomach and intestines, making it easier to pass gas and relieving pressure.
• Stomach pain associated with hyperacidity: It contains a local numbing agent that calms the sensitive lining of your stomach, providing rapid relief from severe burning pain.

Tricaine MPS Gel helps relieve symptoms caused by excess stomach acid and trapped gas. Its main benefits include:

• Relieves heartburn and acid-related discomfort: Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide neutralise excess stomach acid, helping reduce burning and discomfort in the stomach and food pipe (oesophagus).
• Provides temporary relief from acid-related pain: Oxethazaine temporarily numbs the lining of the stomach and oesophagus, helping relieve pain and burning associated with acid irritation.
• Reduces bloating and trapped gas: Simethicone helps gas bubbles combine and pass more easily, reducing bloating, pressure, fullness, and abdominal discomfort.
• Provides relief through multiple actions: The combination targets excess acid, acid-related pain, and trapped gas to provide broader symptom relief.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Eat smaller, more frequent meals: Consuming large portions can stretch your stomach and put pressure on the valve between your stomach and food pipe, worsening reflux.
• Avoid trigger foods: Limit spicy, fatty, acidic (like citrus and tomatoes), and caffeinated foods and drinks, as these can irritate your stomach lining and trigger acid production.
• Stay upright after eating: Avoid lying down or going to sleep for at least two to three hours after a meal to prevent acid from travelling back up into your throat.
• Elevate the head of your bed: If you suffer from nighttime heartburn, raising the head of your bed by 6 to 9 inches can help keep acid in your stomach using gravity.
• Wear loose clothing: Avoid tight belts or waistbands that put pressure on your abdomen, which can force stomach acid upward.

• Shake well before every use: The ingredients in an oral suspension settle at the bottom over time. Always shake the bottle thoroughly before measuring your dose.

• Space out other medications: This medicine can stop your body from absorbing other important oral drugs. Take your other medicines at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking Tricaine MPS Gel .
• Avoid long-term self-treatment: Do not take this medicine for more than two weeks continuously without consulting your doctor, as chronic use can mask underlying serious conditions.
• Monitor kidney health: If you have kidney problems, your doctor will need to monitor your mineral levels, as your kidneys may struggle to filter out the aluminium and magnesium from this medicine.
