Tropicacyl Plus Eye Drops 5 ml is used for examining the eye during the diagnosis or detection of any eye disease, or therapeutic procedures. It can help detect eye inflammation or any other eye diseases such as uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eyewall) or in ophthalmoscopy procedures (retinal examination) or during eye surgeries. It contains Tropicamide and Phenylephrine, which work by making the pupil of your eye larger and relaxing the muscles in your eye. This allows proper examination of the inside of your eye. By enlarging your pupil, it allows your eye care specialist to get a clear, unobstructed view of the back of your eye.

This medication is typically used as a single application right before your eye examination or procedure. Because it is used on an as-needed basis in a clinical setting, you do not need to follow a regular daily schedule. There are no specific food restrictions when using these drops, but wearing dark sunglasses immediately after your appointment is highly recommended to protect your dilated eyes from bright light.
