How and When to Introduce NAN Pro 3?
NAN Pro 3 is a follow-on formula intended for toddlers, and it can be introduced at the age and stage recommended on the product packaging or by your child’s healthcare professional.
When to switch?
Most parents transition to NAN Pro 3 around their child's first birthday, which aligns with the recommended NAN Pro 3 age of 12 months and above. If your child is on NAN Pro 2, the switch can happen gradually over one to two weeks: start with one feed of NAN Pro 3 per day while continuing NAN Pro 2 for the rest, then progressively replace. Always confirm the timing with your pediatrician, especially if your child was born preterm or has an underlying medical condition.
Preparation steps
- Wash hands thoroughly before preparing any feed.
- Boil fresh water and allow it to cool to the temperature stated on the current product label.
- Use only the scoop provided in the tin. Level each scoop with the flat edge of a clean knife; do not pack the powder down.
- Add the recommended number of scoops to the measured water, not the other way around, to prevent overconcentration.
- Close the bottle and shake until the powder is fully dissolved.
- Check the temperature on the inside of your wrist before feeding.
- Discard any leftover formula within one hour of preparation. Do not refrigerate and reuse prepared feeds.
Frequency and volume
NAN Pro 3 complements food rather than replacing it. As a general guide, two servings per day alongside three solid meals is common practice, but your pediatrician's recommendation takes priority over any general guidance.
