Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs due to iron deficiency and chronic kidney disease. Also, Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is used to treat anaemia during pregnancy and lactation.
Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is a combination of elemental iron, folic acid and glycine. Elemental iron and folic acid work by increasing red blood cell (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. Glycine is used to synthesise proteins in the body.
In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, stomach upset, or dark-colored stool. Most of these side effects of Asferic-XT Capsule 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Asferic-XT Capsule 10's may have interaction with anticonvulsants (phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin, sodium valproate, carbamazepine), antibiotics (chloramphenicol, cotrimoxazole, trimethoprim), antimanic drug (lithium), water tablet (triamterene), anti-inflammatory drug (sulfasalazine), painkillers (aspirin), anticancer drug (methotrexate).
Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid consuming dairy products, coffee, or tea with Asferic-XT Capsule 10's at the same time, as they may reduce the absorption of Asferic-XT Capsule 10's.
Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or folate-dependent tumour, inform your doctor before taking Asferic-XT Capsule 10's.
