About Asferic-XT Capsule 10's
Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs due to iron deficiency and chronic kidney disease. Also, Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is used to treat anaemia during pregnancy and lactation.
Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is a combination of elemental iron, folic acid and glycine. Elemental iron and folic acid work by increasing red blood cell (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. Glycine is used to synthesise proteins in the body.
In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, stomach upset, or dark-colored stool. Most of these side effects of Asferic-XT Capsule 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Asferic-XT Capsule 10's belongs to a class of medications called haematinics, primarily used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) due to iron deficiency and chronic kidney disease. Also, Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is used to treat anaemia during pregnancy and lactation.
Asferic-XT Capsule 10's contains Elemental iron, folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) and Glycine. Elemental iron and folic acid work by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC are produced in the body so that body's each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen. Glycine is an amino acid that synthesizes proteins in the body.
You are not recommended to take Asferic-XT Capsule 10's with coffee, tea or dairy products at the same time, as they may reduce the absorption of Asferic-XT Capsule 10's. However, you may drink coffee or tea 2 hours before or after taking Asferic-XT Capsule 10's.
You are not recommended to take Asferic-XT Capsule 10's with phenytoin as co-administration of these two medicines may reduce the concentration of Asferic-XT Capsule 10's in blood and increase the risk of seizures (fits). However, please consult a doctor before taking Asferic-XT Capsule 10's with phenytoin.
Asferic-XT Capsule 10's is not recommended for patients with hemochromatosis (excessive iron in the body) as it may increase the risk of adverse effects. Therefore, it is advised to inform your doctor if you have any iron overload conditions before taking Asferic-XT Capsule 10's.
Iron in Asferic-XT Capsule 10's may turn the stools black. It is a common side effect of Asferic-XT Capsule 10's and is not harmful.
