Gutsium Capsule 30's

Gutsium Capsule 30's belongs to the class of probiotics used in the treatment of diarrhoea. Diarrhoea is a condition characterized by loose and watery stools with a frequent need to have a bowel movement.

Gutsium Capsule 30's contains Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a probiotic (live micro-organisms that keeps the body healthy) that helps to restore good bacteria in the intestines. Thereby, it prevents diarrhoea and loss of beneficial bacteria due to prolonged intake of antibiotics or due to infections in the intestine.

Take Gutsium Capsule 30's as instructed by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience flatulence (build-up of gas in the digestive system) or constipation. Most of these side effects of Gutsium Capsule 30's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Gutsium Capsule 30's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before taking Gutsium Capsule 30's. Gutsium Capsule 30's is not recommended for children below 2 years as the safety and effectiveness were not established. Avoid alcohol consumption with Gutsium Capsule 30's as it increases the risk of adverse effects. If you are intolerant to any sugars, please inform your doctor before taking Gutsium Capsule 30's as it contains sucrose and lactose.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Gutsium Capsule 30's may interact with antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole, clotrimazole, miconazole, voriconazole).

Drug-Food Interaction: Gutsium Capsule 30's may interact with alcohol. Therefore, avoid alcohol consumption with Gutsium Capsule 30's as it may cause adverse effects.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have a weak immune system, lactose intolerance, or if you are dehydrated, inform your doctor before taking Gutsium Capsule 30's.

• Include bananas, apple, toast, and rice in your diet to firm the stools.

• Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids to compensate for electrolyte loss.

• Clear broths and ORS can help provide essential electrolytes.

• Avoid spicy, fried and processed foods.

• Take ample rest.

• Avoid the intake of foods that can trigger diarrhoea.

• Do not consume contaminated food or water.

You are advised to drink plenty of fluids to compensate for the loss of electrolytes and salts due to diarrhoea.
