About Sorbacid Suspension

Sorbacid Suspension is used to treat acidity-related stomach discomfort such as heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), and stomach upset. The stomach is protected by a mucus layer. When excess acid damages this layer, it can cause acidity and heartburn.

Sorbacid Suspension contains aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and dimethicone, which work together to relieve acidity and gas. It helps neutralise excess stomach acid and reduce heartburn and indigestion. It also helps break down gas bubbles and ease bloating.

Take Sorbacid Suspension as suggested by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as constipation, loss of appetite, weakness and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor before taking Sorbacid Suspension if you have low phosphate levels, high magnesium levels, or kidney or liver problems. Dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). Do not take Sorbacid Suspension for longer durations unless advised by the doctor. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Sorbacid Suspension for 1-2 weeks.
