    Met XL-T 50 Tablets belongs to the class antihypertensive agents used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also be used to lower the risk of heart attack and stroke in future.
    Met XL-T 50 Tablets contains Telmisartan and Metoprolol Succinate. Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptors. Angiotensin II constricts the blood vessels, so by blocking its effect, Telmisartan allows the blood vessels to relax and widen. Metoprolol Succinate helps to reduce blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Together, Met XL-T 50 Tablets helps in reducing the blood pressure to normal.
    Met XL-T 50 Tablets may cause a slow heart rate (bradycardia). A minor fluctuation should not be a worry; however, if a slow heart rate continues and you begin to feel unwell, speak with your doctor.
    Met XL-T 50 Tablets may alter potassium levels. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are taking food rich in potassium, such as potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements.
    Please do not stop taking Met XL-T 50 Tablets without consulting your doctor as it may lead to a rise in blood pressure. Continue taking Met XL-T 50 Tablets for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Met XL-T 50 Tablets .
    Orthostatic hypotension could be a side-effect of Met XL-T 50 Tablets . Orthostatic hypotension is a sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing. If you experience this, do not try to stand up suddenly or start walking, instead lie down and get up slowly only when you feel better. People taking Met XL-T 50 Tablets are advised to monitor their blood pressure levels regularly to avoid unpleasant events.
    Use Met XL-T 50 Tablets cautiously in patients with kidney impairment, liver disease, or heart conditions. Caution is advised while driving as it can cause dizziness. Met XL-T 50 Tablets must not be used after the expiry date and take it as advised by the doctor.
    Met XL-T 50 Tablets can cause dizziness. So, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel dizzy.
    While using Met XL-T 50 Tablets , it is advised to follow a low-salt, low-fat diet. Regular exercise is recommended to support its effectiveness.
