Never squeeze or pop them, as this can spread the infection. You can apply an over-the-counter antibacterial ointment. However, if the boils are large, painful, spreading, or accompanied by a fever, you may require prescription oral antibiotics (such as cephalexin). I highly recommend consulting a healthcare provider for a proper examination and the correct prescription.

Using Polymyxin b together with streptomycin can increase the risk of side effects.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking polymyxin B and Streptomycin together can cause an interaction, it can be taken if a doctor has suggested it. However, if you experience nausea, vomiting, a decrease in hunger, increased or decreased urine, weight gain or loss that occurs suddenly, fluid retention, swelling, difficulty breathing, bone pain, muscle pain, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, confusion, and irregular heartbeat, hearing loss, ringing in the ears, vertigo, consult a doctor. Do not discontinue any medication without consulting a doctor.
