  • Phenytoin: May reduce the effectiveness of Salen Capsule by altering how your body processes the medicine.

Drug-Food Interactions

Certain foods contain natural compounds that can increase the skin's sensitivity to ultraviolet light and may raise the risk of treatment-related skin reactions, including:

  • Furanocoumarin-containing foods: Eating celery, carrots, parsnips, figs, parsley, or limes while taking this medicine can greatly increase your sensitivity to UV light and cause severe skin reactions.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Salen Capsule may not be suitable for people with conditions associated with light sensitivity, eye disorders, or impaired liver function, including:

  • Lupus and Porphyria: Do not take this if you have these conditions, as they naturally cause extreme sensitivity to light, which can lead to severe complications.
  • Aphakia: Do not take this if you lack a natural lens in your eye, as your risk of severe retina damage from light is highly increased.
