My 2-month-old baby has been prescribed Capnea oral solution (1 ml) for 3 months, but it is not available in pharmacies. Could you suggest an alternative medicine with the same composition?

Capnea oral solution contains Caffeine Citrate, which is a special medicine used in infants (especially premature babies) to help breathing, and it must be given only under strict doctor supervision . If it is not available, you should not try to replace it on your own, as the dose and formulation for babies are very specific and sensitive. There are other brands with the same composition (caffeine citrate), but the exact substitute and dose must be decided by your child's doctor. Please contact your paediatrician or the hospital where it was prescribed; they can suggest a safe equivalent brand or arrange availability. Avoid giving any alternative syrup without medical advice, as it may not be safe for a 2-month-old baby.
