This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. • Cilnidipine blocks the activities of the calcium channels present in the blood vessels of the heart. This reduces the heart's workload and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. • Chlorthalidone (diuretic) removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body and efficiently reduces blood pressure. Thus, it helps to lower high blood pressure, reducing the chances of a heart attack or stroke.

FAQs

Cilidin Trio Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

Cilidin Trio Tablet reduces elevated blood pressure. It contains Olmesartan, Cilnidipine, and Chlorthalidone. Olmesartan is an angiotensin-II receptor blocker (ARB). Angiotensin narrows the blood vessels increasing the blood pressure, therefore blocking angiotensin can result in widening of the narrowed blood vessels. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker. It acts by relaxing the blood vessels and improving the blood flow. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic or water pill that acts by expelling excess water and salt from the body. It helps in decreasing fluid accumulation and oedema (fluid overload).

Cilidin Trio Tablet may cause low blood pressure resulting in dizziness or fainting. It may also cause orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure while standing up), so rise slowly while standing up from a sitting or lying position.

You should not discontinue using Cilidin Trio Tablet without consulting your doctor. The doctor may monitor your blood pressure for at least two weeks before reducing the dose and gradually stopping the medicine.

The common side-effects of Cilidin Trio Tablet are dizziness, low blood pressure, flushing (reddening of the skin, especially face), headache, palpitations (pounding heartbeat), increased micturition (frequency of urination), and lethargy (feeling weak). These side-effects are usually mild and resolve without requiring any medical attention. However, if any of these side-effects persist or get worse, inform your doctor immediately.

Please inform your doctor before surgery if you are taking Cilidin Trio Tablet as it needs to be stopped because it might lower the blood pressure further if taken along with general anaesthesia.

Both Cilidin Trio Tablet and olmesartan medoxomil are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). However, Cilidin Trio Tablet contains three active ingredients: olmesartan medoxomil, cilnidipine, and chlorthalidone, while olmesartan medoxomil contains only one active ingredient.

Cilidin Trio Tablet can be used with caution in elderly patients. Elderly patients may be more susceptible to hypotensive effects, increasing the risk of falls, dizziness, and orthostatic hypotension. Close monitoring by their healthcare provider is recommended.

Cilidin Trio Tablet is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. This combination of medications can harm the fetus or baby, and alternative treatments should be considered. Women of childbearing age should discuss their pregnancy plans with their doctor before starting treatment.

Cilidin Trio Tablet is not recommended for patients with severe kidney and liver diseases. Patients with mild to moderate kidney or liver disease should use it with caution and under close medical supervision.

Yes, Cilidin Trio Tablet may cause dizziness in some individuals. To manage dizziness, stay hydrated, get enough rest, and avoid standing for long periods. Also, avoid sudden movements, improve lighting, eat smaller meals, exercise regularly, and manage stress. Consult your doctor if dizziness persists.
