About Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's

Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's belongs to the class of high blood pressure-lowering agent known as antihypertensive. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), thereby lowering the risk of heart attack and stroke in future. High blood pressure is a condition in which the pressure in the blood vessels is high. A condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high s leading to hypertension.

Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's is a combination of two high blood pressure-lowering medicines: Telmisartan and Metoprolol. Telmisartan belongs to the class of drugs called Angiotensin II receptor antagonists that works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. Metoprolol belongs to the class of drugs known as Beta-blockers which reduces the blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Together, Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's helps in reducing the raised blood pressure.

Take Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's with or without food, but you are advised to take it with food to avoid stomach upset. Do not crush, chew or break the tablet, swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. You are advised to take Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as increased potassium level in the blood (hyperkalemia), headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, decreased blood pressure and slow heart rate. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

To treat you condition effectually continue taking Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Try not to stop taking it on your own as it may cause sudden increase the blood pressure, chest pain or heart attack.  Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's.

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Directions for Use

Swallow the tablet with a glass of water as a whole. Do not crush, break or chew the tablet. Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's can be taken with or without food. Take Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's should not be taken unless prescribed by a doctor. Based on your medical condition your doctor will advise for how long you need to take Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's.

Side Effects of Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's

Like all medicines, Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. Headache, nausea, weakness, slow heart rate (bradycardia), decreased blood pressure, cold extremities, increased potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia), and dizziness are the common side-effects of Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's. Please consult your doctor if you experience any of these side-effects persistently.

Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's should not be given to children. Prolonged intake of Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's can cause the altered potassium level so, regular monitoring of potassium is required. Yes, orthostatic hypotension could be a side-effect of Telvas Beta 25 Tablet 10's. Orthostatic hypotension is a sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing.
