Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's belongs to the class of antihypertensive agents used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nosebleeds, changes in vision, chest pain, weakness and dyspnea (shortness of breath).

Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's contains Metoprolol tartrate (beta-blocker) and telmisartan (angiotensin receptor blocker). Metoprolol tartrate reduces blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. Together, Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's helps in reducing the raised blood pressure.

You are advised to take Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as increased potassium level in the blood (hyperkalemia), headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, and slow heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's if you are pregnant as it may cause fetal harm. Consult your doctor before taking Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's if you are breastfeeding. Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's is not recommended for children as efficacy and safety have not been established. Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol with Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's as it might cause increased dizziness. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and your health condition to rule out any interactions.

Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's is a combination of two blood pressure-lowering medicines: Metoprolol tartrate and Telmisartan. Drug-Drug Interactions: Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's may have interaction with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen), anti-seizure (pregabalin), heart-related medicines (digoxin, flecainide), anti-depression drugs (lithium, fluvoxamine, sertraline, fluoxetine), and drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (sildenafil).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have diabetes, renal dysfunction (kidney disease), pulmonary disease, alcoholism, congestive heart failure (heart disease), hypotension (low blood pressure) and liver disease.

• Limit the intake of salt in your diet.
• Cut back on foods that are high in fat and cholesterol. Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole-grain foods.
• Avoid tobacco use. Inform your doctor in case of marijuana use.
• Dress warmly, as Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's may cause cold extremities.
• Maintain low salt and low-fat diet while taking Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's.

• Regularly monitor blood pressure levels to prevent hypotension (low blood pressure).
• Get up slowly while rising from lying or sitting position as Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's may cause dizziness.
• Prolonged intake of Cortel M 25 Tablet 10's can cause the altered potassium level so, regular monitoring of potassium is required.
