Fucidin Ointment is used in the treatment of bacterial skin infections. The detailed uses of Fucidin Ointment are as follows:

• Skin Infections: Fucidin Ointment is used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, infected eczema and infected dermatitis.
• Treatment of Infected Burns: Fucidin Ointment is used to treat bacterial infections in burns, especially those caused by staphylococcal bacteria. Thus, promotes healing of burn wounds.
• Post-Surgical Wound Care: Fucidin Ointment is also used to prevent bacterial infections after skin surgery or wounds, particularly in cases of open cuts or wounds.

Fucidin Ointment belongs to the group of medicines called ‘antibiotics’ used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, infected cuts and abrasions, infected eczema and contact dermatitis. Fucidin Ointment contains ‘Sodium fusidate’ that works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required for the survival of the bacteria. Thereby, Fucidin Ointment helps in treating skin infections. Fucidin Ointment is indicated for treating and prophylaxis of skin infections caused by Staphylococcus bacteria.
