What is Antipreg Kit used for?
Antipreg Kit is a medicine used for medical termination of an early pregnancy, usually up to 63 days from the first day of the last menstrual period. It should be used only under a doctor’s supervision and is not safe for self-use. The kit contains two medicines. The first is Mifepristone, which works by blocking progesterone, a hormone needed to continue a pregnancy. This causes the pregnancy to stop growing. The second medicine is Misoprostol, which is taken after a specific time gap as advised by the doctor. It helps the uterus contract and expel the pregnancy tissue from the body. During the process, a woman may experience bleeding, cramps, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea. The amount of bleeding can be heavier than a normal period. A follow-up visit is important to confirm that the pregnancy has been completely cleared. This treatment is only suitable after medical evaluation because conditions like ectopic pregnancy (fertilised egg implants outside the womb) or certain health problems can make it unsafe. A doctor will guide the correct dose and timing and ensure safety throughout the process.
