My son had cortical venous sinus thrombosis last year. He has been taking Acitrom 2 mg and Clopilet 75. His venogram last month showed complete clearance. Should he stop these medicines now?
It's good that the venogram shows complete clearance, but Acitrom and Clopilet should not be stopped on your own. In cortical venous sinus thrombosis, blood thinners are usually continued for 6 to 12 months or longer, depending on the cause and risk of recurrence. Your son's doctor will decide whether to stop, reduce, or continue them based on your child's condition. Do not stop the medicines on your own without medical advice.
