Acivir‑200 DT Tablet contains acyclovir, an antiviral medicine used in children for infections. When prescribed by a paediatrician in the correct dose, it is generally considered safe. The dose in young children depends on weight, age, kidney function, and the specific illness, so it should only be given exactly as advised by the doctor. If your child develops unusual symptoms such as excessive sleepiness, vomiting, rash, breathing difficulty, reduced urination, or unusual behaviour, seek medical attention immediately. Do not change the dose or give other medicines without pediatric guidance.

For chickenpox, the usual acyclovir (Acivir) dosage for adults is 800 mg orally, 5 times a day for 5-7 days, ideally started within 24 hours of the rash appearing. For children, the dose is based on body weight, your doctor will determine the dose. Always follow your doctor's instructions.
