I have been suffering from a fever of around 100 to 101?F for the past 2 days, along with a dry cough and body aches. How should I manage it?
A mild fever, dry cough, and body aches are often caused by a viral infection, such as the common cold or flu. Most cases improve within a few days with proper rest and home care. Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, soups, coconut water, or oral rehydration drinks, to prevent dehydration. Rest well and avoid heavy physical activity. You may take paracetamol for fever and body pain, following the dosage instructions on the medicine label. Warm fluids and steam inhalation can help soothe the throat and reduce cough irritation. Eat light and nutritious meals even if your appetite is low. Monitor your temperature and symptoms regularly. Avoid close contact with others and wear a mask if you are coughing, as some viral infections can spread easily. Please consult your doctor if the fever lasts more than 3 to 5 days, becomes very high, or if you develop breathing difficulties, wheezing, or severe weakness.
