I am 36 weeks pregnant and experiencing abdominal pain. My doctor has prescribed Adilin-SR-40 tablets (Isoxsuprine) and advised a Doppler ultrasound scan. I was also told that my cervix is not open yet. Please advise whether this is normal at this stage of pregnancy, and what I should do.
Mild abdominal pain at 36 weeks of pregnancy is often normal because of your growing uterus and contractions. Take Adilin-SR-40 tablets (Isoxsuprine) as prescribed by your doctor to help prevent early labour, and see your doctor again after your Doppler scan. If your pain worsens, or you notice vaginal bleeding, fluid leaking, or decreased foetal movements, seek medical help immediately.
