I have had a continuous fever for the past 2 months. It improves while taking the medicine, but returns to 102–103°F once I stop taking it. I have done CBC, Widal, LFT, KFT, dengue, typhoid, chest X‑ray, and whole-abdomen ultrasound; all results were normal. Why is this fever happening? I also have a copper‑T inserted about 8 months ago, but no infection was found.

A persistent high fever (102–103 °F) lasting for 2 months requires a thorough medical evaluation rather than symptomatic treatment alone. The most important step now is to consult an internal medicine specialist or an infectious disease physician for a systematic work‑up. Persistent fever of this duration may fall under the category of fever of unknown origin and requires advanced evaluation beyond routine tests. A specialist may advise investigations such as blood cultures, CT/MRI scans, autoimmune markers, or other targeted infection tests, depending on your history and examination. Please avoid self‑medication or relying only on fever‑reducing drugs, as these suppress symptoms without addressing the underlying cause. In summary, the safest path is to seek specialist care promptly to identify the root cause and receive appropriate treatment, rather than continuing symptomatic medicines alone.
