I have been taking Apidra insulin for the past 4 years. My current doses are: before breakfast 17 units, before lunch 17 units (along with Cetapin 1000 mg and Ziten 20 mg), and before dinner 22 units with Lantus 30 units. However, my diabetes is still not under control (fasting 164 mg/dL, post-meal 275 mg/dL). What changes should I make to better control my blood sugar?
Your blood sugar levels are still high despite using medicines, which may mean your treatment plan needs adjustment. It is important to consult your doctor to review your insulin doses, diet, and physical activity. Monitoring blood sugar regularly, following a balanced diabetic diet, maintaining a healthy weight, and exercising regularly can help improve control. Your doctor may also modify the insulin dosage or medications based on your readings.
