My mother has a heart ejection fraction of 35 and suffers from congestive heart failure. She was suggested a pacemaker. Will her ejection fraction increase naturally, or does she need lifelong medication? Are there any Ayurvedic remedies to help her live longer? Also, is 2 liters of water intake a day sufficient?
With an EF of 35 percent, medicines and lifestyle changes can help improve heart function, but most patients need lifelong treatment. A pacemaker/ICD may be needed if advised. Ayurvedic remedies alone cannot treat heart failure but may be used only as supportive care with a cardiologist's approval. Around 1.5-2 L water/day is usually okay, but fluid limits must be individualized by her doctor.
