Candid B cream contains clotrimazole (an antifungal) and beclomethasone (a steroid). While the steroid helps with initial inflammation, using it for too long can sometimes prolong a fungal infection and cause continued itching. Additionally, hydroxyzine (Atarax) helps soothe the itch but does not cure the underlying infection. Fungal infections in the thigh area can be stubborn and take a few weeks to heal completely. Please keep the area clean and dry, avoid tight clothing, and consult your doctor. They may recommend switching to a plain antifungal treatment without a steroid to help the infection clear up safely.
