I have ovarian cancer and have already completed chemotherapy and surgery treatment. Now I am having green bile vomiting and feeling very unwell. What could be causing this problem, and what treatment or medicines may help relieve it safely?

Green bile vomiting after ovarian cancer surgery and chemotherapy can be serious and may happen because of intestinal blockage, slowed bowel movement, scar tissue adhesions after surgery, infection, dehydration, or irritation of the stomach and intestines from ongoing treatment effects. When bile cannot move normally through the digestive tract, vomiting may appear green or yellow-green and is often associated with abdominal pain, bloating, weakness, or inability to eat properly. This situation usually needs prompt medical assessment rather than home treatment alone. Doctors may check for bowel obstruction, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, or infection using scans and blood tests. Treatment may include IV fluids, anti-vomiting medicines, stomach decompression, pain control, and treatment of the underlying blockage or inflammation. Small sips of fluids may help temporarily, but forcing food during repeated vomiting can worsen discomfort. Rest and monitoring urine output are also important. Seek urgent care immediately if vomiting continues, the abdomen becomes swollen, there is severe pain, constipation, fever, or reduced urine output.
