I have a throat infection, and I am unable to eat or drink anything because of the pain. What should I do?
Severe throat pain can result from infection or inflammation and may make swallowing difficult. Drinking warm fluids, doing warm saltwater gargles, and getting adequate rest may help soothe the throat. Avoid very cold or spicy foods until the pain improves. Consult a doctor if the pain is severe or if you are unable to eat or drink.
