If your wound is small and clean, apply a thin layer of an antibiotic ointment such as mupirocin or fusidic acid. Keep the area clean and cover it with a sterile dressing. Oral medicines are usually not needed for such minor wounds. Please see your doctor if you notice increasing pain, redness, swelling, or pus.

Both Bactroban Ointment 5 g and T Bact Ointment 5 g contain the same antibiotic, Mupirocin, in the same strength and are generally interchangeable. If your doctor prescribed Mupirocin and did not specify that only a particular brand must be used, you can use T Bact instead. It is also advisable to confirm with your pharmacist that the concentration is the same.
