I have a prolonged cold with wheezing. Previously, I had a dry cough that improved with Benadryl syrup. What should I do now?
Wheezing with a prolonged cold may indicate that your airways are irritated or inflamed. It is important to see your doctor to rule out bronchitis, asthma, or an underlying chest infection. Avoid taking any cough syrup on your own. Your doctor may prescribe inhalers, bronchodilators, or other medications to help open your airways and reduce inflammation.
