Living with M?ni?re's disease can cause occasional giddiness and nausea due to fluid imbalance in the inner ear, but these symptoms can often be controlled with simple measures such as following a low-salt diet (to reduce fluid buildup), avoiding caffeine, alcohol, and smoking, managing stress, and maintaining regular sleep. During an episode, lie down in a quiet, dark room and avoid sudden head movements. Your doctor may prescribe medications to reduce dizziness and nausea or, in some cases, preventive medicines to reduce the frequency of attacks. Staying well hydrated and doing balance exercises (vestibular rehabilitation) can also help over time. It is important to follow up regularly with your doctor, especially if attacks become more frequent, severe, or are associated with worsening hearing loss, so that treatment can be adjusted appropriately.
