I have a vitamin D deficiency along with weak muscles. I often hear a cracking sound like kat-kat from my joints and sometimes experience tingling in my calf muscles. I also have lower back pain, especially when bending for some time. Please suggest what could be causing these symptoms and what I should do.

Vitamin D deficiency can commonly cause muscle weakness, body aches, joint discomfort, and lower back pain. The cracking or clicking sound from the joints is often related to joint stiffness, weak muscles around the joints, or early cartilage wear and tear. Tingling in the calf muscles may happen due to muscle fatigue, vitamin deficiency, poor posture, or mild nerve irritation from the lower back. You should focus on correcting the vitamin D deficiency with proper treatment advised by a doctor. Calcium intake, regular sunlight exposure in the morning, and a balanced diet rich in milk, eggs, fish, and nuts may also help improve muscle strength and bone health. Avoid sitting or bending for long periods, as this may strain the lower back further. Gentle stretching and regular exercise can reduce stiffness and improve joint support. If the pain, tingling, or weakness persists for several weeks, or if you develop numbness or difficulty walking, please consult an orthopaedic doctor for proper examination and treatment.
