I have a severe headache along with fever and a cold. What should I do?
A severe headache with fever and a cold is often due to a viral infection like the flu or sinus congestion. You should rest well, drink plenty of fluids (water, soups, warm drinks), and take Paracetamol for fever and headache as per the recommended dose. Steam inhalation, warm fluids, and gentle nasal saline drops can help relieve congestion and reduce headaches caused by sinus pressure. Avoid bright screens, loud noise, and get adequate sleep. However, if the headache is very severe, persistent, associated with vomiting, neck stiffness, confusion, or if the fever remains high for more than 2-3 days, consult a doctor immediately for proper evaluation.
