For a fever of 101F, you can give your child Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen. Crucially, pediatric medication dosages must be calculated by your child's weight, not their age. Never give aspirin to children due to the risk of a serious condition called Reye's syndrome. Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. Seek immediate medical attention if your child is under 3 months old, lethargic, or if the fever persists for more than 3 days.
